A new impressive lift tower brought colourful access (including for the disabled) to this extensive refurbishment and extension of a solid Victorian building, providing new life and vitality to this education centre. Access during construction needed to be carefully managed as a nursery school continued to operate alongside in part of the same building
Westminster Children’s Society
121 Marsham Street, London SW1
CDM and Party Wall services
The extension and refurbishment of the existing premises owned by the Society provided significantly improved nursery school facilities, and also offices for the Society. Access and working conditions were restricted, but good relations were maintained with adjoining residential neighbours
Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School and Performing Arts College
New Performing Arts Building, Aylesbury
Project design and CDM services.
New facilities included a flexible drama studio with retractable seating for 175, recording studio facilities, music technology, teaching and practice rooms. Acoustic studies enabled the compact design to cope with the multi use within the building and the proximity to a main road that was subject to heavy traffic,
as well as the playground!
